You may have heard of Sherlock Holmes—the Consulting Detective, who sees through any lie or deceit to find the truth. You may (if you know where to look and are extraordinarily careful) have even heard of Mycroft Holmes, the man who is the British Government. The melodramatic might say that the two Holmes brothers single-handedly keep England standing: the younger with crime, the elder with politics.

But there’s more to the world than Britain. And there’s more to the Holmes family than its sons.

Sherrinford Holmes is very, very careful to ensure that the world doesn’t know she exists. Schooling records, mentions in the newspaper, even her portrait at the Holmes estate—gone. Vanished. Her birth certificate isn’t in any hospital or archive, but is instead hidden away in the best safe she could find. And Sherrinford is very knowledgeable about such matters.

She solves problems. Not for hire—god no, anything but. But she has a way of popping up in sticky situations around the world. An African warlord getting a bit too loud? She’ll be there. A jewelry theft? Maybe, if it interests her enough and if there won’t be too much of a fuss when one or two jewels stay missing. A coup d'état brewing in South America? Maybe she’ll foil it, or maybe she’ll help it along. It all depends on what’s necessary, and what the world needs.

She does not particularly get along well with her family, and hasn’t spoken to them in years. She has blood on her hands, and can be described as an adrenaline junkie. Sherrinford has dozens of aliases, though her business name is simply ‘Miss Ford.’
